Marlow - Dragon Boat Race

On the 11th June 2017 a team from Seymour Taylor took part in the Dragon Boat Race in Marlow. We were proud that our team came 17th out of 22 teams.

Our team who were called the Centurions (to fit with our centenary celebrations this year) looked fantastic...so good in fact that we won the best dressed team at the event. We also raised over £100 for Child Bereavement UK as part of our ongoing commitment to raise £10,000 for local and national charities during our Centenary year.

Working with the Chiltern Rangers

On Friday the 24th February ten of our team worked alongside the Chiltern Rangers, clearing part of Deangarden woods to help the natural habitat in the area. This was part of our Centenary activity and goes towards our pledge of providing 100 hours of Corporate Social Responsibility. It was a great day for the team and we really enjoyed working alongside the Rangers.

On Friday 10th February two of our team Tejal Jayawardena and Lauren Bamford helped at the Great Marlow School Careers Day.

They chatted with lots of students and answered questions on the various different accounting qualifications ACCA, ACA and CIMA. They also discussed the various routes into the world of Accountancy such as university vs apprenticeships or on the job trainee opportunities & AAT routes.

On the 31st January Lucy Rigby from our team worked with students from St Michael's Catholic School in High Wycombe on Interview techniques. On the day students were interviewed by Lucy who then gave them feedback and tips for the future. Feedback was very positive from the students who found the process really beneficial. Throughout this year we will be working on local initiatives in the area.

Christmas Jumper Day

We took part in Christmas Jumper Day raising funds for Save the Children. We all donned our Christmas jumpers and there were some interesting ones worn by the team!

We raised £102 for this worthwhile charity who help to save children's lives.

One Can Trust

Our team have also been collecting food items for the One Can Trust charity who operate a foodbank based in High Wycombe. One Can Trust address a growing crisis of food poverty. Our team all bought in goods and yesterday we delivered 3 boxes of food to them.

Supporting Macmillan's - World's Biggest Coffee Morning

On Friday 30th September the Seymour Taylor team showed off their baking skills for Macmillan Cancer Support in aid of the World's Biggest Coffee Morning. Some fantastic cakes were baked and we raised an outstanding £782.48 for this fantastic charity.

Scannappeal

Every year, we are very happy to participate in the Scannappeal's Charity Golf Day. Our clients have a pleasant day with our managing director and get to enjoy a fancy dinner.

Marlow Dragon Boat Festival

Seymour Taylor (aka The Number Geeks) had great pleasure in taking part in this year's Marlow Dragon Boat Festival. The rain thankfully stayed away and a fun day was had by all rowers and their friends and families.

The end result is definitely up for improvement (watch this space for next year's entry). However we used the opportunity to fundraise in aid of Longridge. For more details on the fantastic work which Longridge do for the local community and sponsorship information, please click here.
