Almost 101 Years and Counting 1917-2017

We can’t believe that our Centenary year is almost coming to an end. What a year it has been for Seymour Taylor!

Making a Difference in the Community

Back in January our team decided they wanted to raise £10,000 for local and national charities and to deliver 100 hours of Corporate Social Responsibility. As a business we are extremely proud to say that so far we have raised in excess of £11,000 and have supported local charities Victim Support, Child Bereavement UK, Scannappeal and Wycombe Mind, as well as some major national charities such as Cancer Research.

We have achieved 100 hours of CSR by working with the Chiltern Rangers, local schools with careers fairs, Bucks New University, Young Enterprise and Fit and Fed workshops for local children, working alongside Empower to Cook and Wycombe Wanderers.

Celebrating with our Clients

In June we held a garden party at the beautiful Hampden House to celebrate our Centenary in style with you, our clients. Over 100 clients attended the event which gave us an opportunity to thank you for your continued business and support as well as enjoy a wonderful afternoon tea and entertainment.

PR

In February I did an interview on Wycombe Sound which broadcasts to areas around High Wycombe, talking about the accountancy industry and our Centenary.

The Bucks Free Press covered the history of Seymour Taylor since our beginning in 1917 and we have also had coverage from Bucks Business First, Thames Valley Chamber and B4 Magazine.

Business Awards

We have won two awards during our Centenary year – a Buckinghamshire Business award for Apprentice and Young Person Employer of the Year and a Practice Excellence award for Practice Growth of the Year. We are delighted to be awarded for our ongoing commitment, recruitment and training of young employees and for being recognised as a business transforming the accounting profession.

Setting ourselves new challenges

We are always looking at new ways to add extra value for our clients. In October we did our first webinar on ‘Succession Planning’ and we will explore more opportunities like this in the future.

We recently began a project on our company values which will take into account the views of both our team and clients, helping us to shape the direction of Seymour Taylor for the next 100 years!

A Big Thank you

I’m so proud of my team here at Seymour Taylor. We believe as a business that by focusing on Excellent Client Service, Long Term Relationships and Working in Conjunction with you, our clients, we can continue to build on our business now and in the future. As we head towards the end of 2017  I would like to take this opportunity once again to thank all of our clients for your continued support, referrals and existing business. It has been a really exciting year for us at Seymour Taylor and I hope it has been a great year for all of you as well.

I wish you continued success into 2018 and beyond.

Simon Turner – Managing Director
