The Company

Seymour Taylor is a firm of Chartered Accountants operating as part of the Hampden Group. We offer the services of a large corporate accountancy firm with the personal touch normally associated with a smaller accountancy practice. As one of the longest established firms of accountants in High Wycombe and the Thames Valley, our highly experienced team of accountants, tax and business advisers offer a wealth of expertise to our clients.

Seymour Taylor operates from pleasant, air conditioned offices about 10 minutes’ walk from High Wycombe town centre and provide all staff with free on-site parking.

We are a growing firm, currently with 44 employees led by 6 Directors. We have high levels of staff retention and most of our senior staff have been promoted from within the business.

There is a good mixture of ages and an active social calendar.


The Role

Being a general practice, Seymour Taylor has a large number of clients in a variety of industries including overseas subsidiaries with significant turnovers, meaning you will gain wide exposure and build upon your existing experience.

The role includes audit, accounts preparation and tax assignments. The role is likely to involve planning and performing audits either alone or leading a small team under the guidance of a manager. The role would include supervision of junior staff, providing them with assistance when required and the reviewing of their work.

There will be opportunity for progression for the successful candidate within the firm and therefore they should be dedicated to a career in practice. The position comes with full CPD training and we are an approved training practice for ACA and ACCA.

The role is 37.5hrs per week and we offer flexi-time (core hours of 9:30am to 4pm).


The Candidate

Must haves:

  • Part Qualified or have completed their ACCA or ACA qualification (study support is available)
  • A minimum of 3 years of accountancy experience working in practice under UK Standards.
  • Able to drive.
  • Good verbal and written skills are essential.

Nice to haves (but not essential):

  • Experience of the following computer packages: Iris; Excel; Word; Sage Line 50; Cloud Packages.
  • Auditing experience
  • Experience of charities.
