Seymour Taylor is an award winning firm of Chartered Accountants operating as part of the Hampden Group. We offer the services of a large corporate accountancy firm with the personal touch normally associated with a smaller accountancy practice. As one of the longest established firms of accountants in High Wycombe and the Thames Valley, our highly experienced team of accountants, tax and business advisers offer a wealth of expertise to our clients.

We have 46 employees led by 6 Directors. We have high levels of staff retention and most of our senior staff have been promoted from within the business. There is a good mixture of ages and an active social calendar.

The Role

Being a general practice, Seymour Taylor has a large number of clients in a variety of industries including groups with significant turnovers, meaning you will gain wide exposure and build upon your existing experience.

The role includes audit, accounts preparation and tax assignments. In addition to this you would supervise junior staff, providing them with assistance when required and the reviewing of their work.

There will be opportunity for progression for the successful candidate within the firm and therefore they should be dedicated to a career in practice.

We offer flexi-time (core hours of 9:30am to 4pm) and our standard working days are 7.5 hours. 

The Candidate

Must haves:

  • A minimum of 4 years post-qualified (ACA/ACCA) accountancy experience working in practice under UK Standards, or be qualified by experience;
  • Experience of planning and leading audits;
  • Experience of running a varied client portfolio;
  • Able to drive;
  • Good verbal and written skills are essential.

Nice to haves (but not essential):

  • Experience of the following computer packages: Iris; Sage Line 50; Cloud Packages.
  • Experience of charities.
